Scientific objectives :    In relation to ocean bottom crustal movement, a deep-tow side scan sonar survey is planned in and around the epicenter of the 2003 Tokachi-oki earthquake of M 8.0. In this survey, an activity for mass movement and slope instability will be evaluated because the submersible cable station above the epicenter recorded the presence of earthquake induced turbidity current in the time.
