Scientific objectives :   To understand the tectonics of offshore Sunda Strait, we will conduct direct observations, sampling and heat flow/gamma-ray measurements using Shinkai 6500 together with a single-channel seismic survey. Main target for this cruise is focussed on the southeastern extension of Sumatran Fault to the fore arc, and to examine the mud volcano and the unnamed tectonic bank at the very point of junction between the Sunda and Java Arcs.
