Scientific objectives :   During April and May 2000 the SO-146 GEOPECO cruise of RV SONNE took place in the waters offshore Chile (6°S - 17°S). The aim of the study was to investigate the subduction zone and the continental margin of Peru. Therefore wide angle seismic data were collected by use of OBH/OBS and magnetics and marine gravity data were recorded. Gas hydrate related reseach was carried out by MCS seismic lines, heat flow measurements and video guided ocean floor observation.
